General Notes
Self-inflicted wounds may be the result of habit, such as lip-biting, biting or chewing of the cheeks, or of deliberate attempts at self-mutilation. As a result, the consequences of the injuries may vary widely, depending on the nature of the trauma. A common source of injury of this type is known as toothbrush trauma, and results from overzealous and inappropriate use of a toothbrush. |
